Fire snuffed before it spread

Okanagan Falls fire crews jumped on a grass fire on the side of Highway 97 Monday morning.

Fire Chief Rob Oliver said they were called to the blaze at the south end of Waterman’s Hill shortly after 5:30 a.m.

“We don’t how it started, but most likely human caused, like a discarded butt or something,” he said. “Our guys hit it hard and hit it fast and were back in 45 minutes.”
