Dogs fell in icy lake

A pair of dogs in Osoyoos was the subject of a rescue Friday, after they ran onto the ice on Osoyoos Lake and became stuck in the frigid water.

Osoyoos fire crews brought one dog out of the water, but were unable to grab the second.

It's a happy ending though, according to social media posts and the Oliver Daily News.

The second dog apparently made its own way home after its owners feared it drowned in the lake.

"Mica made it home safe and sound!" ODN reports.

"This afternoon was very traumatic for my family! Would like to thank all the volunteers, emergency response, veterinarian staff for saving Kaido!" a woman posted, referring to the hypothermic dog that had been saved by rescue crews.
