Kittens will breathe easier

The animals at Critteraid Animal Sanctuary will now have better quality air and better temperature control thanks to a new furnace, hot water tank and ventilation system installed this week.

Jess Byer, animal director of Critteraid, wanted to recognize RPR Heating & Air Conditioning as well as all the other local South Okanagan businesses that provide services and labour at discounts in order to keep the non-profit society running.

Byer said the new heating and cooling systems will make a huge difference at the sanctuary.

"It will make a better impact on the environment, which we always want to strive for," Byer said. "And with the new ventilation, we will definitely be able to see a healthier environment for both our animals and our volunteers."

RPR is just one of the many local businesses that work with Critteraid on a regular basis, and Byer said they are always grateful for more organizations getting involved. Critteraid's needs are constantly evolving, and there are plenty of ways a business can contribute.

"Whether that's sponsoring a project, or helping with a project, or just volunteering a group out for a couple hours a week just helping to muck a stall, clean a cat room, there's always jobs. Just give me a call, I'd be happy to get you set up," Byer said.

Companies or individuals wishing to help Critteraid with their work can reach Byer at 250-488-3226 or via email here.
