Boost for CMHA

The Penticton Hospital Auxiliary has given the local chapter of the Canadian Mental Health Association a shot in the arm with a $1,000 donation for new winter tires.

The CMHA van transports mental health clients on a variety of psychosocial rehabilitation activities such as bowling, skating, swimming and hiking.  It also allows the charity to take clients on educational excursions to museums and art galleries, which contribute to enhanced social connections and improved mental health.

CMHA also uses the van for weekly grocery shopping trips and transportation of staff to teach mental health workshops throughout the entire South Okanagan Similkameen.

“We are thrilled with the support we have received from the Penticton Hospital Auxiliary”, said Leah Schulting, Executive Director.  “This donation gives us peace of mind when driving in winter conditions.”
