Man Stabbed

Asking for a cigarette proved dangerous for a man in Penticton last week.

Around 7 p.m. on November 30, a 36-year-old man approached a group of three people near the Wade and Van Horne Street intersection.

The man was extremely intoxicated and a physical confrontation took place between him and another man.

During the altercation, the second man pulled out a weapon and struck at the first man.

By the time police arrived, the people involved had disappeared. RCMP located the victim at the hospital.

The victim has no fixed address and suffered five stab wounds. None were life-threatening and the man has since been treated and released.

The suspect is described as Caucasian, 5'8", with short brown hair. He was seen wearing grey pants and a red ski jacket over a dark coloured hooded sweatshirt.
