Some communities hold Christmas tree lightings, but in Penticton, we have a Peach.
The first-ever “Light Up the Peach” goes Monday evening on Lakeshore Drive at 6:30 p.m.
The public has been invited to sign an ornament to be placed on the Peach for a $25 donation to the SOS Medical Foundation’s PRH tower campaign. You can also pitch in with an online donation.
On Friday, one of the girls teams from the Okanagan Hockey Academy helped crews decorate in advance of the event, which will include a choir, hot chocolate and a countdown to the light up.
Everyone is invited.
