Oliver Wine Village

A partnership between the Town of Oliver and the Co-operators Development Corporation Limited (CDCL) has been reached to develop the Wine Village in Oliver's downtown.

Plans call for a 4.5 acre parcel of land, one block east of Main Street, to be revitalized. A riverfront hotel is also being proposed.

CDCL announced Wednesday it has short-listed hotel partners and is expecting to release the details on the successful candidate in the next few weeks.

The development proposal builds on the wine village accord unveiled in 2003, which called for redevelopment throughout the downtown and a river linear park, based on Smart Growth Principles.

Final concept plans for the hotel portion of the site are scheduled to be released for public review in early 2007.
