City Council wants kids to use their heads.
A bylaw has been proposed to make helmet use mandatory at the Penticton Youth Skate Park, however, a staffing shortage could put the brakes on it.
Councilor John Vassilaki says a lack of staff could be a problem.
"We have hundreds of bylaws on the books which we can't enforce because we don't have the staff. I'm afraid this will be another one," says Vassilaki.
Councilor Garry Litke says the bylaw won't happen by the end of this season.
"By the time we can pass this bylaw and set up enforcement for it, it'll be the end of the season," says Litke.
The bylaw has been referred to council for further discussion. A petition in support of the bylaw will be presented at Monday evening's council meeting.
