Car Crash

A hunting trip almost proved deadly for a South Okanagan couple.

Around 6 pm on Wednesday evening, a 36-year-old Penticton woman and a 56-year-old Oliver man were traveling on the 201 forestry road past the OK Falls mill when their vehicle went off the road. The two were coming from Oliver with the intention of doing some deer hunting in the 201 area.

The woman suffered only minor injuries but was unable to locate her friend after the crash.

She walked to a nearby home and asked for help. The woman was driven to Penticton hospital as emergency services started to look for her friend.

Penticton RCMP, along with a police service dog and other emergency services, responded to the scene and started searching for the man.

The unconscious man was located just before 10 pm. His medical condition isn't known.

The crash is being investigated, but it's believed the 1948 Fargo truck went off the road after taking a sharp right turn.
