The Regional District Okanagan Similkameen will be hosting an open house for all residents in Tulameen on November 18 at the Tulameen Community hall.
The open house will provide a forum for residents to obtain information about a potential community water system for the town centre.
Gerri Logan, Area 'H' Director, believes this project presents an important opportunity for Tulameen.
“A community system would help ensure home owners better water quality and lower structure insurance rates. This is balanced by the costs associated with building and running the system. We want to present the relevant information and let the residents make their own decision,” says Logan.
The open house will help inform the RDOS whether to work on further steps of the project such as funding applications, surveys and setting up a local referendum to approve the water system.
The open house takes place from 11 am until 5 pm.
