The Quist-Dyck family has suffered a setback.
The Summerland family was involved in a head-on collision on October 20 and have been recovering from serious injuries in three separate hospitals.
According to family friend Lynn Stearns, three-year-old Josh Dyck has taken a turn for the worse at Vancouver's Children's hospital. He suffered heart failure and now has fluid in his lungs.
She says Josh's biological father Jason is by his side and other family members are standing by in Kelowna.
Stearns says Bernice Quist is in the ICU at KGH and was scheduled to have surgery on Wednesday to finish the work on her pelvis.
Meanwhile, Westley Quist is in Penticton Regional Hospital recovering from broken bones and a badly crushed foot.
