100 convictions, arrested
A prolific offender with more than 100 criminal convictions is back behind bars after being arrested in Penticton.
Ian James MacDonald, 38, was arrested Wednesday for a series of break and enters in the region and the theft of a vehicle earlier that day.
The South Okanagan targeted enforcement unit was tipped off about his whereabouts on the south end of Penticton. After a short struggle, in which MacDonald resisted arrest, he was taken into custody. MacDonald is facing several new property related charges, adding to more than 100 previous convictions.
"It’s not often you come across a bad guy with that horrendous a record. He is a very brazen criminal so obviously it’s a relief getting this guy off the streets" said Cpl. Scott VanEvery of the TEU.
