The Oliver Fire Department says a fire that began early Saturday evening has been contained.
The department posted to Facebook showing the burned grass area, saying two crew members were putting out hotspots and monitoring the affected area.
"Fire is burnt out and thanks to the quick response from BC Wildfire Service, there are retardant guards on all sides," OFD stated.
The fire, believed to be human-caused, sparked up on Oliver Mountain, just west of Oliver at about 5:30 p.m. It grew to 3.5 hectares in size, according to fire information officer Nicole Bonnett.

A wildfire has sparked up on Oliver Mountain, west of the town centre.
The fire was first reported at about 5:30 p.m. and is burning next to a cell tower.
BC Wildfire Service information officer Nicole Bonnett says the fire is currently estimated at two hectares in size and says it's believed to have been human-caused at this point.
Bonnett says the BCWS is assisting the Oliver Fire Department with six personnel, air tankers and one helicopter.
