Many customers in Faulder and Meadow Valley, near Summerland, are without power due to the Mount Eneas wildfire, and could be for the coming days.
The Regional District of Okanagan-Similkameen says about 244 BC Hydro customers are experiencing an outage, caused by the 1,000-hectare fire.
"As soon as it is safe to do so, BC Hydro crews will access the situation and make plans to repair the damage," the RDOS said in a news release.
"Residents without power should be prepared for the outage to continue through the weekend."
According to BC Hydro's outage map, the affected customers have been without power since 2:04 a.m.
In the same news release, the RDOS noted campers at Okanagan Lake Provincial Park, evacuated late Wednesday night due to the Mount Eneas fire, will be able to access the campsite from noon to 3 p.m. today.
"Campers who need to recover their equipment and supplies are asked to bring two pieces of ID and check in with the park operator."
The campground remains under an evacuation order, as do 42 other properties within the RDOS jurisdiction.
