Alleged threats from jail

A Princeton man facing charges related to a home invasion in May is now facing three additional charges for allegedly threatening a witness in the case against him while he was in prison.

Johnathan Haller, 22, has been charged with intimidation of a justice system participant, uttering threats and obstruction of justice.

The new charges were sworn in on Monday, and the alleged offences occurred on May 21.

Haller was arrested on May 18 after being charged with seven offences, related to a violent break and enter at a 91-year-old Princeton man's home days earlier.

Princeton RCMP Cpl. Chad Parsons said it's fairly unusual for an inmate to be charged for threatening a witness, but said he has seen it happen before.

The BC Prosecution Service said no date has been set yet for Haller to appear in court on his new charges.
