Arctic ApBitz a hit

Arctic ApBitz has been a smashing success for Okanagan Specialty Fruits.

The Summerland company, which several years ago developed non-browning apples, has been selling the dried apple snack on Amazon.com since March. Arctic ApBitz quickly became the No. 1 new release in both the snack and dried fruit categories.

OSF president Neal Carter believes his product stands out not only because it’s tasty and nutritious, but because there is nothing else out there like it.

“It’s completely unique,” Carter said Friday. “When people take it out of the bag they’re expecting it to be a dried fruit and limp, but the fact that it’s crispy and crunchable when you bite into it — it literally explodes in your mouth — you get this burst of flavour.

“That’s what people really find appealing. You’re crunching down on a healthy snack and getting this really strong burst of flavour.”
