Arrest in home invasion

Police in Princeton have made an arrest following a violent break and enter on Sunday.

Jonathan Haller, 22, has been charged with seven offences including possession of property obtained by crime, possession of a firearm while prohibited and two counts of uttering threats, among others.

Princeton RCMP were called to a property early Sunday morning where a 91-year-old man was assaulted and robbed of several items after his home was broken into.

The victim was treated for his injuries in hospital after the incident.

"I would like to thank the community members of Princeton for your patience while this complex investigation unfolded," Cpl. Chad Parsons said in a news release.

"We have accomplished a lot on this file so far but the investigation is not over."

Parsons said mounties are working with the BC Prosecution Service to see if further charges are appropriate.

Haller made a brief appearance in Princeton court on Friday and remains in custody. His next appearance is scheduled for June 14. He denied any wrongdoing in relation to the incident in a Facebook post on Tuesday.
