Fire destroys trailer at camp

A travel trailer was destroyed by fire at a camp on the Osoyoos Indian Band early Saturday morning.

Fire crews attended the blaze at about 5:30 a.m., which happened at a site on Nk'Mip Road near Spud Farm Road, between Oliver and Osoyoos.

Oliver Fire Department spokesperson Rob Graham said the trailer was fully involved in flames by the time crews arrived, adding crews were on scene for more than an hour. 

He said there were no injuries and no one was in the trailer at the time of the fire. The cause is under investigation.

Graham said the site where the fire occurred was a camp with other trailers around.
