Youth attendance tweaked

With attendance at games booming, the Penticton Vees are making tweaks to the program that allows youth under 18 through the gates for free.

For the rest of the season, all fans under the age of 18 not accompanied by a parent or guardian must present photo ID.

Before the Peters Brothers free kid attendance program was implemented in 2014, Vees games saw an average of 200 children per game at the South Okanagan Events Centre.

So far this season, the Vees have been averaging about 590 kids a game.

“We appreciate all our fans both old and young and want to insure a positive experience and environment for all,” Vees head coach, general manager and President Fred Harbinson said.

The changes will be implemented starting Friday against the Trail Smoke Eaters.
