Job experience for students

Osoyoos Secondary School students will get a chance to "find their fit" for future careers on Tuesday.

WorkBC's ongoing Find Your Fit tour is hitting the Okanagan to help students explore career opportunities.

"There are growing career opportunities for Okanagan residents in a wide variety of sectors," said Melanie Mark, minister of advanced education, skills and training. "Find Your Fit will give students and parents the information and hands-on experience they need to help them find a career that will help them thrive."

Roughly 16 career-related activity stations will be available for students to experience, including taking blood pressure, creating digital graphics and completing an electrical circuit.

The hope is that having hands-on experience will help students discover their interests and skills, and give them direction when it comes to career planning.

The Find Your Fit tour will be visiting communities throughout B.C., and further information on locations can be found here.
