Anyone for a puppy?

Chelsea Powrie

One lovable puppy at Summerland's Critteraid pet shelter is in need of a home — just as soon as he's old enough to be adopted.

Driver is seven weeks old and loves to play, especially with his sister. He's part of Critteraid's reboot of their dog adoption program, which animal director Jess Byer says is especially important leading into the spring, when she expects an influx of puppies and kittens.

"It's really important to remind people this time of year the importance of spaying and neutering," Byer said. "There are some really great resources if you're in financial need, you can always reach out to us."

Applications to adopt Driver are available online on Critteraid's website, but he won't be ready to go home with his new family for several weeks.
