Suspicious fire guts truck

The Oliver Fire Department was called to suspicious truck fire early Monday morning.

Fire crews were called to the 7200 block of Highway 97 shortly after 3:45 a.m., arriving to a truck already fully gutted by flames.

Department spokesman Rob Graham says the truck was parked near a fruit stand — so there was some initial concern for the structure — but the flames stayed contained to the vehicle.

The cause of the fire is undetermined, but is considered suspicious given the time and nature of the call.
