Open up and say awwww...
Penticton is getting four new doctors to help improve health-care services in the South Okanagan. The recruitment of new doctors has been a high priority for the city's economic development officer.
Many of Penticton's current doctors are nearing retirement age, as are much of the population. It is believed that as many as 3,500 people in Penticton are without a family doctor.
Three of the new doctors are moving from the Prairies and the forth is relocating all the way from England. It isn't possible to say exactly how many patients each new doctor can take, but it is estimated the number will be between 900 and 1,000.
