A Penticton restaurant is opening its doors to all community members on Christmas Day.
Elite Restaurant, at 340 Main St., is having a drop-in Christmas dinner open to people in need or anyone who doesn’t have a place to enjoy dinner on Dec. 25.
“A lot of seniors or people that are just alone or living downtown are looking for a place to spend some time on Christmas Day,” said Berry Wood, co-owner of The Elite. “I’ve really enjoyed it the past couple years.”
“I look forward to putting it on just for the energy of having the event and seeing those people.”
There is no need to call ahead, the restaurant will be open from 5 to 8 p.m. with a buffet style turkey dinner.
Donations are also accepted to cover the cost of the dinner and any proceeds leftover will be donated to the Soupateria.
Turkey donations are also appreciated.
