An intense fire has completely destroyed an Oliver building.
The building, located on 91st street, went up in flames just after 4 am on Sunday morning. By the time Fire Chief Dave Janzen arrived on scene a few minutes later, the building was totally engulfed.
“The call came in around four in the morning and we were on scene until about 10:30,” says Janzen.
About 25 fire fighters battled the blaze but ultimately, the building was a total loss. They were able to prevent the fire from spreading to neighbouring structures.
The building, which manufactures trusses was located next door to the General Coach building and heat from the blaze melted the exteriors of two motorhomes.
Janzen says that no one was injured and the cause of the fire is under investigation.
