A man will be spending three weeks in jail for stealing from a Penticton 7-Eleven and smashing a window at the store.
Police were called to the convenience store on Skaha Lake Rd. at 3 a.m. on Monday.
“It was for a report of a male who stole a phone and assaulted a store employee,” said Cpl. Ted Manchulenko. “He then kicked out a glass window prior to fleeing north.”
He was quickly located and arrested a short distance away.
Aaron Hillstad, 26, was charged with theft and mischief under $5,000, according to court records.
He pleaded guilty at his first appearance Monday and was sentenced to 21 days jail, 15 months probation and $100 victim surcharge.
