Penticton RCMP located a dead man inside a residence on South Main Street Thursday morning.
The RCMP responded to a request to conduct a well-being check on a 55-year-old man at around 9 am. Police believe he had firearms inside the house so in order to ensure neighbourhood safety, Police Dog Services were called in to assist with a search of the residence. Traffic was also re-routed from the area for about 10 minutes.
Upon entering the residence, police discovered the man's body. Foul play is not suspected as it appears he took his own life. The Coroners Service is continuing it's investigation.
