Unofficial start of holidays

Black Friday, the day after American Thanksgiving, is synonymous with some as the unofficial start to the holiday shopping season. 

The cross-border shopping deals on Black Friday are commonplace today on Canadian soil. 

As well, online shopping is on the rise with Canadians, according to a survey commissioned by FedEx Canada. The survey said two-thirds of B.C. consumers are expected to do at least some of their holiday shopping online this year.

Castanet visited Cherry Lane Mall to ask shoppers if they'll be spending money on Black Friday and how stores fare against online shopping.
