Wellness fair a success

The second annual Penticton Wellness Fair took place during the weekend, featuring a variety of products meant to provide health and wellness.

The event proved to be a hit, with crowds of people showing up to learn about health related products.

"It's a way for those that have solutions to network with the community," said Chris Madsen, founder. "In the traditional model we just have drug stores and doctors, but there is so much more to healing the body, soul and spirit."

The fair featured over 70 exhibitors with about 90 per cent of them being local Okanagan companies.

"With every problem that we have the solution is attached to it," Madsen said. "Almost always that solution is not clearly evident, so we go to authorities."

"It's really important for people to know the alternative ways, so that they can problem solve in awesome ways."

The free event brought in many new health inspired local businesses, one of them being a uniquely designed mattress company.

"Haven Mattress looks really good, I haven't tried it yet but I know that the energy seems really great," adding that Haven Mattress Company gets a thumbs up.

"Karma Rub is another interesting one, they have a lotion for pain that comes right out of mineral deposit in Australia."

This weekend the wellness fair will move onto Kelowna.
