Dangerous Driver Nabbed

On Friday , August 4th, 2006 at 10:44 PM, Penticton RCMP responded to a report of a blue 1992 Saturn that had collided with another vehicle near Warren Ave and Channel Parkway.

The Saturn had kept on going without stopping. The other vehicle suffered minor scrapes to the bumper as a result of the collision.

The blue Saturn was located shortly thereafter on Hwy 97 near the Westbench turnoff where it was observed to rear end a 2001 Harley Davidson motorcycle.

The vehicle knocked the motorcycle over and pushed it 180 feet before it came to a stop.

The lone occupant / driver of the motorcycle, a 41 year old Coquitlam man suffered non life threatening injuries and was taken to Penticton Regional Hospital for treatment and released.

The driver of the Saturn was a 21 year old Vernon woman who was arrested for Impaired Driving.

Charges of Impaired Driving, Drive over .08, Failing to Stop at an accident and Dangerous Operation of a Motor Vehicle are being recommended against the woman.

The woman has been released to appear in Penticton Court in October.
