Home invasion, B&E probed

Police in Penticton are investigating a series of break and enters in the community last week.

The first occurred at a home on Green Ave. at some time between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m. on Oct. 11.

The suspect or suspects may have entered through a patio door, which could have been left unlocked, according to Penticton RCMP.

A Dell laptop and jewellery were reported missing.

On Oct. 13, police responded to a break and enter in progress on the 600 block of Main St.

Two males were observed at about 2 a.m. attempting to pry open the door to the building.

Bystanders confronted the men, who then fled in an older Dodge truck. They never gained access to the building.

Later that evening on Oct. 13 at about 10:45 p.m., RCMP was called to a Cariboo St. home after a resident called police reporting an unknown male inside their home.

The man broke in through the back window and escaped through the front entrance, according to police, adding the intruder apparently threatened the homeowner.

The suspect is described as Caucasian, bald, about 5'11" and 25 to 35 years old.

All the above crimes remain under investigation. Anyone with information is asked to contact the Penticton RCMP.
