Oliver structure fire

UPDATE: 8:25 a.m.

The Oliver fire department will be investigating the cause of a fire that broke out in a building behind a house on the 5800 block of Main Street Sunday morning. No one was injured.

"There was a fair amount of smoke and fire damage to it," confirmed Rob Graham, fire department spokesperson.

Graham said the fire did not break through the roof but there was damage to the attic and a section of the building.

"The fire was in a building in the back of the property. It had some living quarters in it but no one was living there at the time."

Graham said the cause of the blaze was under investigation.


UPDATE: 7:45 a.m.

Fire crews are said to be mopping up after a blaze in a structure on Oliver's main street, according to an eye witness.


ORIGINAL STORY: 7:12 a.m.

Members of the Oliver fire department are battling a structure fire in the 5800 block of Main Street.

Crews were called out at 6:38 a.m. Sunday to the fire across the street from Lordco Parts Ltd., according to a department official.

Photos sent into Castanet show a house on fire.

Castanet will update when more information becomes available.
