Staff at the Naramata Centre are taking the plunge.
15 staff members are planning to swim across Okanagan Lake on Saturday August 5 to raise money and awareness of the centre's renewal campaign.
Staff has been training for about four weeks and range in age from 17 to 47 years old. The group will leave Powell Beach in Summerland around 8 am and are hoping to arrive at the Naramata Centre dock between 10 and 11 am. They will be accompanied by support boats.
The Centre's Renewal Campaign will run from 2006 to 2010 and funds from Saturday's swim will go to the building of new cottages and program spaces. For more information contact Diane Ransom at the Centre.
