Penticton RCMP have yet to lay charges in connection with the incident at Okanagan Provincial Campground that sent two people to hospital.
On Monday morning, an altercation between a 65-year-old man and a group of young people turned violent and resulted in a 22-year old female being sent to hospital after the 65 year-old allegedly hit her in the face with the handle of an axe. The male was also taken to hospital after being knocked unconscious by the female's friends.
Corporal Rick Dellebuur says they are waiting to speak with the man before deciding if charges will be laid.
“It is still under investigation and I don't think there has been a determination made yet as to what to do with it, whether charges will be laid against one person or two or more,” says Dellebuur.
The female was treated and released but the male remains in hospital with unknown injuries. RCMP are continuing to investigate.
