Lakeshore Drive Stabbing

Penticton RCMP are investigating a stabbing incident.

On Saturday, July 29 a young man was stabbed on Lakeshore Drive near Martin and Winnipeg streets.

Around 3 am, the young man and a male friend were walking home from the Lakeside Resort when they were approached by four people, three males and a female, all non-white. The group allegedly asked the two males if they wanted to fight. The two males refused and tried to back away.

The three males in the group then attacked the two young men, hitting one in the head and stabbing the other near the abdomen before leaving the scene. A Police Dog Unit was brought to the scene but unable to locate the group.

Both the men were taken to hospital and treated for non-life threatening injuries and then released.

The RCMP have no further description of the suspects and are asking anyone with information to contact Crime Stoppers or the Penticton detachment.
