A fire at Can Wood Furniture on Timmins Street in Penticton broke out just past noon on Friday.
The fire started in one of the paint booth units at the south end of the building.
Captain Ron Bolenback from the fire department says the sprinkler system kept the blaze from getting out of control.
“We managed to put the fire completely out before it could spread to the roof, so the damage wasn't too bad,” says Bolenback.
All the employees were evacuated while the blaze was extinguished but have already been allowed to return to work.
Bolenback says he estimates the damage is between $5,000-$10,000. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
