South Okanagan - West Kootenay MP Richard Cannings is hopping onto his bicycle to “Ride the Riding” for the second year in a row.
Cannings will tour tour the riding using a combination of rail trails and highways between Aug. 22 and 30.
In a news release, Cannings said the cycling trails are important attractions for tourism and key economic drivers for many small communities in the riding.
“I enjoy riding these rail trails myself, and one of the reasons for this cycle trip is to highlight their importance to the riding,” he said.
The public is invited along for part of the ride, or to one of the many coffee and meal breaks where residents can share their concerns, ideas and suggestions for the region.
“Last year's ride was such a success and I’m really looking forward to hitting the trails again,” Cannings added. “Everyone is invited to join in on the ride and I look forward to hearing what everyone has to say."
