Police hunting bank robber

The Penticton RCMP is turning to the public for help identifying a bank robber.

Police were called to the Valley First Credit Union at 184 Main Street on Aug. 9 for the robbery. The streets were full at the time with crowds leaving the annual Peachfest peach bin races just down the block.

“No weapon was revealed during the incident,” Cpl. Don Wrigglesworth said “Police were on scene within minutes but did not locate the suspect.”

The male is estimated to be in his thirties. The clothing he was wearing during the robbery was discarded in the alley east of Main Street.

“The forensic identification section is analyzing items seized for evidence," Wrigglesworth added.

Anyone with information on the man’s identity is asked to contact the RCMP.
