Rock climber critically hurt

A female rock climber has been critically injured in a climbing accident at Penticton's Skaha Bluffs.

Dale Jorgenson with Penticton & District Search and Rescue says they were called to Skaha Bluffs Provincial Park by B.C. Ambulance at about 8:40 a.m. Friday.

A ground crew attended, but requested assistance from Vernon Search and Rescue’s helicopter winch team. Due to the extent of her injuries, the climber was flown directly to Kelowna General Hospital in the Vernon Rescue helicopter.

The current condition of the woman is unknown.
