Fire truck hit-and-run

The Naramata Fire Department's Engine 163 and a crew of five were involved in a hit-and-run during a training night this week at the corner of North Naramata Road and Robinson Avenue.

A mini van travelling south at a high rate of speed missed the corner and crossed the centre line hitting the fire engine on the driver's side door.

The van then regained control and sped away from the scene.

One of the other fire trucks driving along Old Main Road came across a van with three people outside of it talking.

The van matched the description given from the crew of Engine 163.

Fire department members made sure the individuals stayed at that location until RCMP arrived to take care of the situation.

No one was seriously injured in the incident.
