Man dies on 3 Mile Beach

A man in his early 60’s has died following what is suspected to be a heart attack at Penticton’s Three Mile Beach.

B.C. Ambulance was dispatched to the beach at about 4:20 p.m. on July 18 for a male in distress. As a result of the male being pronounced deceased at the scene, the police and coroner followed.

Prior to the arrival of paramedics, good samaritans administered first aid, however were unable to revive the man.

Castanet News spoke with one of the good samaritans, who said the victim was in perfectly good health before being found unresponsive on a secluded end of the beach.

“A determination has been made that the man’s death does not involve foul play,” Cpl. Dan Moskaluk said in a news release. “RCMP investigators are continuing to assist the BC Coroners Service and are taking steps to notify the man’s next of kin.”
