Roommate or burglar?

Police are investigating a burglary in Penticton over the weekend, that was initially mistaken for a hungry roommate.

The break and enter apparently occurred July 15, 1:30 a.m., on Van Horne St. A resident heard a noise in the kitchen and went to investigate. After entering the kitchen the resident said that "the screen door was opened and noticed someone was leaving."

"He did notice that only food items were missing from the fridge, so he didn't call the police," Cpl. Don Wrigglesworth said. "The next morning they noticed that keys were missing."

"It's ok to call us [police]," he said.
