Fire crews in Oliver called to a suspicious fire overnight

Fire investigators in Oliver are looking into a suspicious fire lit overnight Monday.

The Oliver Fire Department was called to Road 5 at Sumac Street around 12:30 a.m. to find a fully engulfed flatdeck trailer full of wood and garbage.

Fire department spokesman Rob Graham said it was a pretty straight-forward job for attending crews, “because it was a trailer that was fairly open, they were able to get around the fire to keep it contained to that trailer.”

“No cause for concern for it spreading,” he said, adding they have deemed the fire suspicious.
