Peach Fest needs volunteers

The 70th annual Penticton Peach Festival is short on volunteers, and organizers are putting out a call for help.

Volunteer coordinator Audrey Baker said their pool of volunteers is aging somewhat, with many unable to commit to as many hours as they did in previous years.

“I’m looking for a little bit of everything,” she said, particularly for traffic control, barricade monitoring and setup and tear down help.

Baker says they need about 25 more volunteers, at minimum, to have things running smoothly. A two to four hour shift is the minimal commitment. Those that help out get a t-shirt and windup party as a thank you.

Anyone interested apply to volunteer online, or contact Baker directly at 250.809.6468.

Peach Fest runs Aug. 9 to 13.
