They took the bait. The bait car that is.
Just after midnight on Saturday, July 8, the Penticton RCMP was alerted that one of the new bait cars had been stolen. Using a remote, the engine was disabled and two females were arrested without incident.
The driver, 17, is facing recommended charges of Theft, Possession of Stolen Property and Impaired driving. The passenger, 15, is facing recommended charges of Possession of Stolen Property. Both have been released for a court appearance at a later date.
This is the first bait car to be stolen in Penticton since the program began in May.
