The Penticton and Friends Celebrity Golf Classic teed off on Saturday at the Penticton Golf and Country Club.

In attendance were Calgary Flames player Chuck Kobasew, from the St. Louis Blues Mark Rycroft as well as Andy Moog, Justin Pogge, Justin Keller and Mike Card.

The tournament is a fundraiser for local charities such as the B.C. Special Olympics, the Moog and Friends Hospice and the Okanagan-Silmilkameen Neurological Society. The tournament has raised over $900,000 in the past 20 years.

The event was emceed by long-time B.C. Sports personality John McKeachie.

The golfers played a practice round on Friday before playing in scramble format with five-man teams.

The event also gave the participants a chance to bid in a silent auction on items such as an autographed Bobby Orr jersey and a trip to Hawaii.
