NDP leader Carole James stopped by Penticton City Hall on Wednesday afternoon to meet with Mayor Jack Kimberley and members of council.
James and Kimberley discussed issues of importance to the city, such as endangered local species, the proposed new national park and affordable housing.
She said her party has heard from many people on the subject of affordable housing and is committed to pushing the issue with the government.
“We've continued to push the government to say they need to get back into the issue of affordable housing. That it is a crisis and will continue to be a crisis, it's not just a social issue, it is economic as well,” says James.
Both the NDP and Liberal Parties are holding caucus retreats in Penticton this week.
