Scary start to the morning for an elderly Penticton woman.
Mychele Rondeau says someone tried to break into her ground level apartment between one and five a.m. Friday morning.
“Somebody had taken a metal broom and bent it in half to try and remove the pieces of wood that we use to keep our door secure. When they couldn't succeed at getting into my place they went around back and climbed onto a second story deck and went into an old lady's apartment and stole her purse and $10 that was on the table,” says Rondeau.
She says after that, the person took all the credit cards out of the purse and left it on the first floor of the complex before moving on.
It is unknown at this time exactly how many apartments the person or persons tried to enter or what, if anything was stolen.
RCMP are investigating.
