The sight of so many police boats on the water might have been cause for alarm on Thursday morning.
However, the six RCMP boats were being tested for safety as we approach boating season in Penticton.
RCMP Constable Rick Dellebuur says this is the first time in awhile that the boats have been tested like this.
“We are just checking them for inherent problems before the upcoming boating season, we want to make sure all our water vehicles are ready to go at a moment's notice,” says Dellebuur.
He says that several different RCMP Departments from the Okanagan and the Kootenays have brought their water craft to Skaha Lake to be inspected and tested.
