Garbage truck catches fire

A garbage truck caught fire Friday morning in Penticton.

Just after 8:30 a.m., firefighters responded to the situation, at the Kings Park parking lot on Eckhardt Avenue.

The driver dumped the truck's load, which fanned the flames as the trash was exposed to more oxygen.

Crews doused the fire quickly and are currently awaiting the arrival of equipment to load the burned garbage into another garbage truck.
